The Democrat candidate, likely Hillary Clinton at this time, will
probably not be easy to beat. Some of you Conservatives and Republicans
in general may be in denial on this.
But you have only to look at
the last two elections, in which a majority of those who voted, elected
Barack Obama, in my opinion the worst President in my lifetime.
If
you were shocked that he was re-elected, you might be even more shocked
that he would very likely be elected a third term, if allowed.
It will take a very special Republican candidate to beat Hillary, or whoever the Dem nominee is.
It won't take a RINO (Republican In Name Only) like Bob Dole, John McCain or Mitt Romney. We've tried that, and failed.
What
it will take is someone who not only stands for Conservative principles
and the Constitution, BUT (and this is huge, IMHO)...is winsome,
friendly, humorous, and articulate in TEACHING those principles in a way
that people actually listen and understand.
We are now down to
three Republican candidates from whom the Republican nominee will likely
come. Very few would disagree with me on that. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump,
and Marco Rubio.
Two of those, I don't believe can win against
the Democrat nominee, for reasons I'll detail later in this blog -- Ted
Cruz and Donald Trump.
Having said that, let me state
emphatically that if Cruz or Trump were to win the nomination, I would
fight hard for them to win. The consequences are too great for another
four or eight years of flat-out "Progressive" "Liberal" "Socialistic"
destruction of our Constitution by the Democrats.
Marco Rubio, on
the other hand, can win, in my opinion. He is not only an authentic
Conservative on virtually every significant issue, he is (as my
qualifications above indicate) winsome, friendly, humorous, and VERY
articulate in teaching Conservative Constitutional principles to voters.
No one else can take dumbed-down (no offense, seriously) low-information voters, and help them understand what's at stake.
In that sense, and others, he is the most Reaganesque of the candidates.
Marco Rubio can win the General Election.
